In late July, Jakarta hosted the 10th anniversary of IDNOG—one of the region’s key events for internet and telecom professionals. For StormWall, it was more than just another forum. The Asia-Pacific region is experiencing rapid digital growth, but with it comes a sharp rise in cyberthreats. This creates new and pressing challenges for ISPs and telecom operators.

Our team presented data showing a dramatic 92% increase in DDoS attacks across the region in 2024. Nearly a quarter of these targeted Indonesia and Singapore. Even more concerning is the rise in attack sophistication—cybercriminals are now using complex multi-vector tactics that target infrastructure from several angles at once.
One of the highlights of our participation was a keynote by our Senior Sales Manager, Kirill Sorokin. His presentation, “DDoS Attacks in APAC: Latest Trends and Protection Strategies”, sparked strong interest and a dynamic discussion. Using a real case involving an Indonesian telecom operator, Kirill showed how modern protection tools can successfully mitigate even the most advanced DDoS threats. He also highlighted the advantages of our new scrubbing centers—including a newly established PoP in Jakarta—which dramatically reduce incident response times.
Beyond the stage, our booth was buzzing with conversations. Over the course of two days, we spoke with dozens of local experts who shared their security concerns. These talks confirmed what we’ve seen across APAC: while digital transformation is accelerating, many companies are still relying on outdated protection methods—leaving them exposed to evolving attacks.

IDNOG 10 gave us more than just a platform to showcase our solutions. It offered valuable insights into the unique needs of the regional market. We are leaving Jakarta with a clear takeaway: advancing cybersecurity in APAC requires closer cooperation between technology providers and network operators, as well as a stronger focus on awareness and training.
We’re grateful to the organizers for inviting us to be part of this important conversation. For us, events like IDNOG are not just about technology—they’re about listening, learning, and working together to build a safer digital future. We look forward to having more opportunities to support this goal across Asia-Pacific.
