Cybersecurity Challenges in the MENA Region

The Middle East is a booming hub for IT startups and global tech companies looking to expand. But as the region’s digital landscape grows, so do cyber threats.

DDoS attacks are on the rise. In 2023, the UAE accounted for 7.6% of global DDoS attacks, climbing to 8.1% in 2024. Saudi Arabia saw a similar spike—from 2.6% in 2023 to 3.8% jn 2024, according to our analysts at StormWall. 

With digital security becoming a top priority, cybersecurity was a major topic at Capacity Middle East 2025. With over 3,000 ICT professionals in attendance, security conversations were more urgent than ever. The event remains a must-attend for those shaping the MEA region’s digital landscape.

Strong Demand for DDoS Protection

A key highlight was our new traffic filtering point in Dubai, launched last year. Thanks to this scrubbing center, we can now detect and mitigate DDoS attacks in the UAE and neighboring countries faster than ever.
