StormWall Update: New Tools for Full Traffic Control 

We’ve added two new tools to our Client Portal — Top IP and Top Search Engines. These features make it easier to analyze traffic and its sources, giving you better visibility and helping you make faster, more informed decisions.

If you’re using StormWall for Web, you can start exploring these tools right away — they’re already available in the Analytics section. 

Top IP: Identify Where Your Traffic Comes From

The Top IP table shows the distribution of requests and authorizations by traffic sources (src) — that is, where exactly the requests to your resource originate. It provides a clear view of the IP addresses generating the highest number of requests.

Use this tool to monitor the current distribution of traffic sources and to:

• Detect threats early. For example, if a significant share of requests suddenly comes from one or several IP addresses, this may indicate credential-stuffing attempts or the start of an automated DDoS attack.
• Quickly identify the cause of issues. Whether you’re dealing with traffic spikes, performance slowdowns, or an increase in errors, the table highlights key sources right away — with no need to manually analyze logs.
• Make faster decisions. You can promptly restrict suspicious activity, adjust filtering rules, or confirm that your protection is working as expected.

The data also helps identify suspicious IP addresses with a high frequency of requests.

In addition, the Top IP table can be exported in CSV format — useful for local analysis or sharing with colleagues. 

Top Search Engines: Monitor Search Traffic and Bots

The Top Search Engines chart shows the distribution of traffic by search services— such as Google — allowing you to monitor requests  from search engines.

For the selected period, the chart displays the total number of requests from each search engine, giving you a clear overview of how traffic is distributed and how it evolvesover time.

Instead of scattered data, you get a structured visual representation that helps you:

• Monitor spikes in search traffic that may be caused by bots or unusual user activity,
• Detect suspicious or automated requests to your API and website pages,
• Respond quickly to changes in search traffic structure, including making faster decisions on SEO or filtering settings.

The Top IP and Top Search Engines tools, like other analytics features in the StormWall Client Portal, help you quickly understand what’s happening with your resources in real time. Most importantly, they enable you to respond without delay to any significant changes in traffic.
