StormWall Filtering Network Capacity Surpasses 8 Tbps

It’s been anything but a quiet year for the StormWall team. We’ve opened new scrubbing centers, beefed up uplinks, and refreshed hardware across our cleaning facilities around the world — all in service of a single, stubborn goal: keeping our customers’ protection rock-solid even when the most ferocious DDoS attacks come calling.

And the work paid off. In 2026, the total capacity of the StormWall filtering network passed the 8 Tbps mark — that’s 1.6× what we were running this time last year.

StormWall Filtering Network Capacity Surpasses 8 Tbps

What We Did

Quite a lot, as it turns out:

  • we brought three new scrubbing centers online — in Jakarta, Miami, and Los Angeles — pushing filtering even closer to where attacks originate, so threats get absorbed before they have a chance to travel;
  • we put serious work into the locations we’ve been running for years — upgrading hardware at our scrubbing centers in Germany, Hong Kong, and Singapore to add headroom in the markets where it matters most;
  • and we expanded our external uplinks with the world’s largest carriers and IXPs, reinforcing connections to NTT, Arelion, Telia, PCCW, and DE-CIX in Frankfurt. And we’re not done — the next round of capacity boosts with regional carriers across Asia and the Middle East is already in the pipeline.

All of this is what got us north of 8 Tbps. And — take our word for it — that isn’t just a number on a slide. Behind it sit countless red-eye flights, miles of carefully laid cable, and months of after-hours work from some of the most stubbornly excellent engineers we know.

Why This Matters

“By scaling our network year after year, we don’t just keep up with the largest DDoS attacks — we keep the kind of headroom that lets us stay ahead of where the next generation of threats is heading,” says Ramil Khantimirov, CEO and co-founder of StormWall.

In short, 8+ Tbps means:

  • for us — it’s a matter of reputation. It’s a guarantee that our defenses don’t flinch as attack volumes and our customer base both keep growing;
  • for the businesses that already trust us with their protection — it’s higher uptime and a much smaller chance of losing online users when attackers come knocking.

Growing our filtering network isn’t a one-time project. Right now, while you’re reading this, our engineers are already testing new hardware, expanding capacity on more uplinks, and prepping the next wave of scrubbing centers for launch.

Because DDoS attacks aren’t slowing down — they’re getting bigger, smarter, and more sophisticated. Which means we have no choice but to keep growing right along with them.
